How it works

Real Time Cam is a turn-key system, which means we install all of the cameras and necessary equipment. After the installation is complete you are given a web address and a user id/password. Simply access the web site, enter your user id and password and then watch what is going on! It really is that simple. Anyone who can use the internet can use Real Time Cam!

Our easy to use systems are reliable and durable. Real Time Cam stands by our technology and we offer a service guarantee to all of our clients. Our systems consist of cameras, online real-time video streaming and a digital recording mechanism.

Cameras:

Cameras vary widely according to the intended use. Some have zoom lenses for distance observation, wide angle (fish eye) lenses for small rooms, night vision with UV light invisible to humans, color capabilities during for daytime use, black and white for nighttime use. Many have pan, tilt and zoom options. Cameras come in different sizes and shapes, from pinhole sizes hidden in smoke detectors, radios or toys to slightly larger cameras mounted on the wall, ceiling, under a dome or in weather-proof housing. Wireless options are available too (when there is no place to hide a cable).

Recording:

Digital recording on the average size computer hard drive can provide up 60 days, 24 hour a day, recording in 10 frames per second for one camera (a 4 camera system would provide 15 days, with all four views using non-stop recording). Recording is possible up to 160 frames per second (the human eye only notices 20 frames per second). Each system can be configured to use one to sixty-four cameras simultaneously. At the end of the programmed loop, the system overwrites the oldest data with new data, so there is no check-up maintenance or need to replace a cumbersome tape.

Motion Activated Recording records only when there are movements detected in the view of the camera. Motion detectors can be set to react only on part of a camera view, or on the entire view (a feature, which is very useful for outdoor cameras). When in this mode, storage space can extend to months of recording.

Recorded material has a very easy to operate user interface. Stored videos can be found quickly and easily, sorted by motion sensors activities and/or time. Any part of recording can be exported as a video file for CD or DVD to be viewed on any DVD player.

On-Line real time streaming:

From any computer in the world, connected to the internet and using Internet Explorer, licensed users are able to see all of their cameras in real time. After the installation is complete you are given a web address and a user id/password. Simply access the web site, enter your user id and password and then watch what is going on! In addition to being able to watch in real-time, motion detectors can be programmed to send an e-mail with a picture in case an event is detected.
